The Upstate Writing Project's Young Writers' Camp offers rising 5th through 8th graders the opportunity to explore writing styles and share writing with new friends.  The camp provides two weeks of in-depth writing instruction, structured writing workshop time, flexibility in writing, and daily opportunities to share writing.


Summer 2011

Who?  Students who have just completed grades 4-7 and enjoy writing

 

What?  A two-week writing camp that inspires creative young writers

 

When?  June 13-24, 9am to 12 pm

 

Where?  University Center, Greenville

The camp includes:

    • Daily writing workshops

    • A "writing marathon" in historic Downtown Greenville

    • Craft lessons on specific content and revision strategies

    • Peer response in person and on-line

    • One-to-one conferences with UWP Consultants

    • Time to learn from published authors

    • Creating websites, blogs, podcast and more to publish writing!

    • New friendships and writing connections

  • A "celebration of writing" authors' breakfast
